After the tragedy that occured at 'The Beach' at Australia's Wonderland on the 4th of Feburary 1996, there were a lot of changes made whilst it was closed during the Winter months. A major 'spruce up' of the area was undertaken. New signage was installed. There was a new shaded area placed over the baby pool. The staff were given new brighter uniforms and were required to do a lot more training. All of this culminated with the opening of 'The Beach' for the summer 96/97 season on the 26th of October 1996.
