Hanna Barbera Land

[COMMENT] Why did HBL close? Because Wonderland lost the Hanna Barbera contract to Movie World... It was in about 2001 and may have even been the beginning of the end!	[COMMENT] NOTE! The building you see behind you was later clad to look like Fred Flinstones 'boulder built' house. You may see this building again in other photos.
[COMMENT] DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY PICS OF THE OLD PADDLE BOAT RIDE???	[COMMENT] Pepole are Going to miss this Park in the Future because Wonderland Sydney Was Austraila's Best parks.

[COMMENT] They should never have changed this enterance! Everything looks so balanced and proportioned. The new enterance made the bottom part of HBL a deserted area.. any thoughts? Write them here! Comment! --degrabber I used to do the early starts and greet guests at the rainbow. I remember the days when we regularly got 14,000 - 20,000 guests in the park a day. [COMMENT] Wonderland later lost the rights to use Hanna Barbera in the park.. so this became a nameless rainbow (around 2002/3) and it was renamed Little Wonders Land.... awful... If the area was renamed, why did it all shut down? Putting those sorts of rides in the goldrush area made no sense, and its true it was a sign of the beginning of the end. I have around 100 photos throughout the years in this park, and im enraged to what's happened, but what can anyone do?? [COMMENT] swirly swirl	[COMMENT] Oh Gosh I remember this ride. As A Walk-about Character (in our "under-suits") signed in earl one morning [before opening time]to take some WACKY photos in H.B.L. We All jumped on different rides and snapped away. Then we jumped in to our Character Suits, and headed for BAM-BAMs Ballroom, and started to do dive bombs into the "PIT". At the time, it was fun to jump in the ball-pool. We didn't "see" the stupidity or danger of our action, GOSH! We could have ended up in a wheelchair but lucky for us we were immortal. We were afterall "Cartoon Characters". I'll try my best to (find) post my "fun times" at AUSTRALIA'S WONDERLAND SYDNEY early days PHOTOS. I also have my own web pages but I'm waiting to here from the producers of this cool site to get permission to write my link in here...I sent them an E-mail today (Oct 30th 2006). [COMMENT] I remember this stage show very well. Circa 1997.. it had part of the stage turn and open to reveal Fred Flinstone on a piano which would kick off the show.. awesome.	[COMMENT] Edit me!

[COMMENT] This is awesome! And Dastardly and Muttley are in their Wacky Races outfits	[COMMENT] I was a cast member of the Blinky Bill Show 'Everyone Needs A Home'. I played every character and performed in the show every day for the seven months I was in the Entertainment Cast at Wonderland. This was a fun fun job and I loved every minute of it. So sad that Wonderland is closed.

[COMMENT] Edit me!	[COMMENT] These were the clowns and water race in HB Land where I had worked for many years from about 96 till 2000. Seeing these pictures is sad it was such a wonderful place but I think it were the new owners that took over during my time there that run the park down and left it too late to try to revamp it. But I must say it was so good to see the guests happy. So sad Sydney doesnt have anything any more.
[COMMENT] WHY WAS IT THAT WHEN THE PARK CLOSED EVERYTHING WAS SMASHED TO BITS OR LEFT TO AGE AWAY INSTEAD OF SOLD OFF AND SALVAGED TO BRIGHTEN ANOTHER THEME PARK UP. I KNOW I WOULD HAVE LOVED THE CHANCE TO PURCHASE SOME THINGS IF THEY WERE GOING TO WASTE ANYWAY....TALK ABOUT HOME WRECKERS!!! [COMMENT] Sometime during what i think was 2003 i went to wonderland for a friends birthday. we and my mate ran off by ourselves and noticed that wonderland suddenly stopped where hanna barbera land used to start. the rainbow was still there but the gates were closed. so we though Fk it and climbed over the fence. it was pitch black by this point and we couldn't see hardly anything. there was st everywhere. we turned on our phones for light and thats when i came upon this sight u see above. it was fkin scary as hell. my friend was 24 at the time and he's a male and he st himself to. it was like a ghost town. i've never felt that feeling since. it was like all my childhood memories were shattered before my eyes. we looked around for roughly half and hour. climbed on the beastie and looked at all the bare concrete and bolts where my loved rides once stood proudly. i had no idea at the time that they were closing the park and looking back im glad i got to run around in there one last time. even if it wasn't the way i had remembered it. (so to answer your question, YES the beastie was closed)	[COMMENT] Edit me!

[COMMENT] I just really think that all the people in thier early 20's would agree with me when i say that wonderland was a magical place to be as a kid!it was like christmas morning when you walked through the gates but 10 times better!!!!I remember saying to my dad at age 12 how i dreded the day ending when we were there!I loved it so much and only wish they would come back just the way it was when we were kids!!!NOW THE AISANS ARE ENJOYING OUR AUSSIE MEMORYS THE BASTARDS!!!!!!! [COMMENT] wonderland was an amazing part of my childhood they wonder why these days kids are wandering the streets getting into trouble its because they have taken away everything that would bring families together Money can only bring you so much Families are whats more important im very upse that it had to come to this with wonderland with everything that was fun	[COMMENT] wow hwo awesome a few months after wonderland closed me and my cousin snuck into the old site and stole stuff we found with wonderland logos in the shops and also stole signs from over the park my cousin has the spaceprobe sign pole which tells you how tall you have to be ! yeh sure buddy thats impossible as i have it.
