August 2004:

All 14 Bush Beast and 10 beastie carriages where moved out to the maintenance area
by one of the wonderland maintenance workers still working at wonderland after is closure.

Bush Beast AND Beastie trains together!
Who would've thought that they would ever see all 4 trains together?!

Bush Beast and Beastie carriages where then moved out to the back stables Behind Minchinbury Reservoir

Visionland in the USA wanted to buy the Bush Beast and Beastie carriages, but it all went sour after the Demon mess.
In the end the Demon did go to Visionland and is now named The Boomerang.
Some info concerning the Demon Mess below:

A Canadian company came over to pull the Demon down. It is said that they did not have the relevant demolition licence so they subcontracted it out to some guy at the last minute( unsure where the guy lived). This guy thought he could charge what he wanted (500 an hour to be precise) because there was such urgency to get it down and out. After it was done their original company (Canadians), who were contracted to pull it down, decided not to pay guy his exorbitant fee using the distance between the two countries as a safe haven. This also impacted on Visionland who purchased the ride and they were also chased for payment even though it was outside their contract with the Canadian"experts". They may have made a verbal agreement to get things moving but verbal agreements can have a nasty habit of changing or disappearing. All this mess with lawsuits still to play out helped cause the lateness of the approvals to demo rest of the park which then caused heat for a certain ex-Wonderland CEO therefore damaging the negotiations for Visionland to buy the Bush Beast and Beastie coaster cars.

All 14 Bush Beast and 10 beastie carriages where out in the stables behind Minchinbury reservoir untill January 2006

Saturday 12 March 2005
Ambulances were called to reports of a person fallen at the 'Space Probe' in the former
Australia's Wonderland site at Eastern Creek.
On arrival ambulance officers found a male in his early 30s trapped on a platform inside the tower approximately 30 metres above the ground. SCAT paramedics and a doctor from Careflight arrived on scene to assist in treating the patient. He was released two and a half hours later and taken to Westmead hospital with a back injury in a stable condition.

March 31 2005
A cyclone fence went up around the Bush Beast

August 25th 2005

The the zodiac hasn't been visible from outside the park for sometime now due to the hydraulics leveling out and causing the arms to be in the horizontal position as can be seen here.

But on Aug 25th 2005 the eastern arm of the zodiac was up in the air!

They started by putting 'HMS Endeavor' in containers and clearing the overgrown ground around Probe/Zodiac and starting the diesel motor on Zodiac and manually operating the lift cylinders as per evac when no power is available, lowering the western arm ready for the gondolas to be removed as can be seen here.

They are waiting on the crain to arrive now.

Saturday the 27th of August 2005

The Bushbeast was demolished, everything but the station was destroyed.
One of the steal cables from the SkyRider ride was taken down and wrapped around the bushbeast and then connected to two bulldozers which tried to pull the bush beast over, the bulldozers moved towards the Snowy River Rampage pushing everything in there path into the Snowy River Rampage with the cable around the Bush Beast and a dozer on each end of the cable they tried to pull the Bush Beast over, The Bush Beast did not go down without a fight, the SkyRider cable snapped several times and in the end they just drove the dozers through the supports with the structure coming down behind them..

Snapped SkyRider cable.

In that last pic you can see more snapped cable and also the remains of the building that was under the main lift hill, this building housed the lift motor and gearbox.

October 10th 2005

'The Beach' was demolished.

The Skyrider towers had been pulled down, they have removed allot of trees and you can see into the park.

*I think The Beastie went down the same day as the Bush Beast. The Beastie and Bush Beast just lay there in a big pile of twisted wood. After the two pictures where posted on www.roller-coaster.com.au, looking down from gold rush at the only remaining part of the Bush Best station. The next day the security at the wonderland site was extreme, there was a sign on the gate saying all vehicles subject to search on entry and exit and a security guard was taking down the number plates of each vehicle that entered and the time they left the site. The Bush Beast was being broken up into small pieces and over the next week and was moved out into the front car park in a pile, the same thing happened to The Beastie by September 2nd The Bush Beast and Beastie where totally leveled with their remains in the car park outside, what we used to be, the wildlife park entrance.

The Bush Beast and Beastie laid there for a few weeks in the car park, In that time some people contacted the site manager at the wonderland site, asking for permission to enter the site to access the remains of the Bush Beast to get some bolts and a few pieces of timber, From what i know three people got a bolt or a piece of timber before ING said no more! There is very little that can be done with the Beast's remains. The chemicals used to treat the timber back in the early eighties is highly toxic. As far as i know the Bush Beast and Beastie remains where not removed from site, other wood was just piled on top of it all, you can see here

(pics taken 23rd of October 2005)
a piece of maintenance track walk from Beastie or Beast sticks up out of the wood, other pieces of bush beast and/or beastie can be seen. ^
