I remember breathing in too deeply when upside down and having the harness lock in holding me about 1/2 a metre off the seat (i was only little)! the most exciting (and scary) thing ever.

Did you know that there were only 3 of thess pirate ship rides in Australia. One is in perth and the other is in Sea World but it doesn't go upside down...boring. Wonderland's pirate ship has sailed to Malaysia.

Ride removal. I wish Wonderland did not close! I loved that theme park, I went there when I was little and then I stopped going to Wonderland in 1999 and I went back there in 2003 and it was different. I loved everything I loved the rides, I loved the music, I loved the shows etc. The last time I went to Wonderland was April 24 2004. So I wish Wonderland was still here so I can go there again.

Yes we all miss it but the problem was, the location and transport sucked, and it could not draw enough visitors to stay viable. Let's face it, if it had been somewhere closer to the city like Parramatta or Chatswood or Gladesville, we all would have gone along more often and spent our money there. The only reason the ones in Queensland work is that there are so many other things to do there...

It wasnt the location or transport. Where would an area such as Gladesville fit a theme park?Blacktown is around 20 min from Parramatta, it is now sorounded by three major highways and is in the middle of the most densly populated area in Sydney and is growing bigger. There were constantly busses heading to and from there throughout he day from Doonside and Blacktown train stations. It closed simply due to a lack of customers and poor management and advertisement.

My sister worked at AW, and first they removed all the licenced products (Hanna-Barbera characters, all the cartoon characters etc) because AW could no longer afford the licensing fees to sell them. But that wasn't enough to save the financial trouble. My sister can remember days where it was so quiet half the rides closed (no point paying staff to stand and do nothing) and the staff just went around having turns on the other rides.

I never went on this ride because i was too young and too scared. I regret it now i miss wonderland and these pictures make me so sad. There are hardly any theme parks i can get to now apart from Luna Park (which seems like it has hardly any rides) and Jamberoo. SOOOO depressing but at least i get to go to the Gold coast for my first visit soon. :(
